A brief profile of Smt.Vasantha Kumari, Managing Trustee of Saras Trust,ooty

This is to state that Srimathi. S. Vasantha Kumari, Managing Trustee of Saras Trust, Ooty has got rich experience in handling the problems related to counseling of Children, Women, and Elders through the activities of Saras Trust, namely Child resource center, Childline 1098 services, Short Stay Home for women & girls, Family counseling center and Home for the aged. She has got the credit to state that she has served popular organizations like Udavum Karangal, Vivekananda Kendra and she had ample opportunities to work among Children through sponsorship and educational activities.

We are happy to state that she is also a sitting member of the District Juvenile Justice Board, Nilgiris for the past seven years. She is also a member of various committees formed by different departments in Nilgiri district as follows:

a) Service provider for domestic violence of women

b) Social worker member for Lok Adalat

c) Redressal committee of sexual harassment of working women in Coonor Tea Board, All India Radio, Ooty.

d) Member of Maintenance and Welfare of Parent and Senior Citizens Act 2007.

e) District Child Protection Committee Unit.

f) Indian Red Cross Society ( Vice-Chairman ).

She is also a member of the National Council for senior citizens formed by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, New Delhi.

She has also received the Best Social Worker award from the Government of Tamilnadu in the year 2013.
